Code & security audit: Find out what breaks before your users do.
You built fast, with AI tools or a freelancer, and probably some of it at 2am. Before you launch, raise a round, or sign your first enterprise customer, you need to know what’s in the codebase.
We review your product the way an attacker, an investor’s technical advisor, and your future engineering team would. You get every risk we find, ranked by severity and effort. The report ends with what to fix first.
Teams we’ve built for
You’re about to bet on this codebase. Do you know what’s in it?
- You’re launching publicly and aren’t sure who can see what.
- An enterprise customer asked for a security review.
- The MVP was built by AI tools, a freelancer, or both. Nobody has reviewed it since.
- You’re about to hire engineers and want to know what they’re walking into.
- Things break in ways nobody can quite explain.
What we cover
Every audit covers the same ground, so nothing important depends on what we happen to notice.
Authentication & access
Can users only see and change their own data? We test sessions, roles, row-level security, and API authorisation.
Secrets & configuration
Are keys, tokens, and admin credentials kept out of the client bundle and the repo history?
Payments & billing
Do webhooks, retries, refunds, and subscription states hold up when a payment fails or a webhook fires twice?
Data & performance
Are queries indexed, is the schema sound, and will it hold up at ten times today’s traffic?
Code health
Is the structure consistent enough to change safely? Where is code duplicated or dead, and what breaks when touched?
Operations
Are there backups, error tracking, logs, and a deploy process you can trust at 2am?
Four steps, one clear report.
- Step 01
Kick-off
A short call about your product, your users, and what worries you most.
- Step 02
Access
Read-only access to your repository, hosting, and database configuration.
- Step 03
Review
We go through the code, the config, and the live app by hand for every area we cover.
- Step 04
Report & walkthrough
A written, ranked report, walked through on a call with your team.
- A severity-ranked list of every issue we find
- Effort estimates and a recommended fix order
- Quick wins you can ship the same week
- A plain-English summary for non-technical stakeholders
- A walkthrough call to answer your team’s questions
Tools we reach for
- Next.js
- Supabase
- Firebase
- PostgreSQL
- Stripe
- React Native
- Non-technical founders who built with AI tools or freelancers
- Startups preparing for a fundraise or technical due diligence
- Teams onboarding a new engineering lead or agency
Good questions, straight answers.
Something we missed? Ask us directly. A person will answer, not a bot.
01Do you need access to our code?
Yes. We need read-only access to the repository, plus your hosting and database configuration. Production data isn’t needed, and we never change anything during the audit.
02Will you fix the issues too?
If you’d like. The report stands on its own for any team to act on; if you want us to do the work, we quote it as a fixed-scope project.
03Is this a penetration test?
No. It’s a code and configuration review focused on the ways MVPs usually break. If you need a formal pen test for compliance, we’ll say so. The audit is a good first step before one.
04What if the codebase is a mess?
That’s normal, and it’s why the report ranks everything. You’ll know what’s dangerous, what’s merely untidy, and what can wait.
05How much does it cost?
A fixed fee, agreed before we start and based on the size of the product. No surprises, and no obligation to hire us for the fixes.
Often paired with
MVP rescue
Built with Cursor, Lovable, or Bolt? We fix the security holes and payment bugs, then tidy the code. No rewrite.
- Fixed fee
Performance audit
A fixed-fee audit of why your web or React Native app feels slow. Every fix is measured and ranked by its gain.
- Fixed fee
UX audit
A fixed-fee review of your key user flows by designers who also build. Fixes come ranked by impact and effort.
